This programme the name ‘Sanchar’ (lecture
– Demonstration) is the aim expressed is not to
fight Westernization but the process of de-cauterization.
All forms of art have a role to play. However, most
art today is increasingly moving towards entertainment.
Even forms which were basically designed to elevate
are mutating slowly, replacing one objective with another.
A priceless cultural heritage rooted in what is essentially
Indian. With the onslaught of rapid change and global
homogenization, this multifaceted Indian heritage is
being increasingly marginalized and diluted. The lecture
demonstration series seeks to conserve and promote an
awareness of this rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry
amongst the youth of this country through focus on the
various art forms of India.
Lecture Demonstration provides the stage for an informal
interaction between the students and artistes, and help
to create & fine-tune a future audience. Here the
artistes demonstrate the art forms with the help of
explanations, thereby, making their art form easily
comprehensible. The rapport thus created helps the student
develop a wholesome understanding of not only the art
form but also the artiste as a practitioner of a certain
way of life.
These aspects of her teaching can enhance participants'
creativity, emotional development, and artistic appreciation.
The spiritual and metaphysical aspects of Indian arts
can help develop participants' knowledge of Indian culture
and its various art forms. It will develop an understanding
of the cultural aspect of various art forms of India.
